Treatment Philosophy:

“I believe in treating my patients as equals. By teaching them about their conditions and diseases, I give my patients the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their health care choices.” With a deep respect for each patient’s unique circumstances, Steve develops an individualized treatment plan addressing each and every body system affected by their pain. “I use state-of-the-art technology and scientifically-based, evidence-driven approaches that include Interventional therapies, Procedural based treatments, medication therapies, nontraditional appropriate therapies.

Special Interests:

“I consider the mechanics of treating orthopedic, neurologic , systemic pain conditions to be a unique and rewarding challenge. Non surgical orthopedic and neurological injuries are a particular interest of mine. Utilizing up to date therapies such as interventional injections, regenerative medicine, and minor surgical procedures are of special interest to me. Understanding that pain can be extremely complex and debilitating, I try to provide hope while giving a realistic picture of what can be accomplished.

Professional Journey

“I worked my way through college as a physical therapy technician. This experience encouraged me to pursue a career in medicine and begin physician associate studies in 1991.” Following graduation from PA school, Steve moved to Florida where he practiced internal medicine for one year, which provided a well-rounded experience in patient care and the basics of primary medicine.

“In 1995, I began my career in orthopedics and helped to build a large practice with a general, fellowship trained spine orthopedic surgeon.” Steve had the good fortune to be a hands-on first assistant in spine cases that included all types of lumbar and cervical fusions, expanding his knowledge of spine conditions, both pre- and post-surgical. “This first-hand look at the anatomy of the spine now offers me an intimate understanding of the mechanics behind many pain conditions, and the anatomy involved.”

After six years working in the orthopedic field, Steve joined with a neurologist to build a busy neurology and pain practice. During this time, he perfected his skills treating pain patients with procedures such as peripheral nerve blocks and epidural injections. He and his family moved back to New Hampshire in 2007 so that they could raise their children in New England. After moving to NH he trained with fellowship trained pain management physicians, becoming an expert in delivering interventional treatment to pain patients. He has also taken multiple courses in advanced interventional pain management which has made him the excellent practitioner he is today.
